2 months ago • 1,581 notesThis is my dad and my mom. They’ve been married for 21 years and have 4 kids. My dad and mom work so hard, they never actually stop working. They are the best parents I could ever be blessed with.
In September my dad became really ill. Come to find out all his symptoms equaled up to a rare disease that only 1 in 100,000 people get. He’s now in ICU breathing of an oxygen machine which is doing most of the breathing for him. He’s sedated so he’s not awake to experience any of the tubes going down his throat, the wires, and the needles that are all hooked up to him. My dad has been in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks. Doctors are saying he has 50/50 chance.
With the holidays coming up it’s especially hard going on about my day and sleeping at night, knowing that my dad is in the hospital fighting for his life. I never realized how much love and family and friends my dad had until all of this happened. My dad constantly has people visiting him day and night. My family has received so much help from food, to gift cards, to just a simple hug. His co workers have all gave in their hours for my dad’s time off until the middle of January. They even paid for our Thanksgiving dinner that we’ll have on Thursday. They’ve offered to put up our Christmas lights and offered so much support. Considering all our family, friends, and co workers live between 45 minutes to 2 hours away. They’ve all came quite frequently just to give some support.
My mom wakes up every morning and goes straight to the hospital after she drops off my two youngest brothers at school. She goes to the hospital before work and after work, which she gets off at almost 12am. She’s such a strong woman, i swear I wish everyone could see how strong she is being for herself and her family.
I swear we are so blessed to have so many people on our side, I just wish that everyone would pray for my dad. He needs all the positive energy that he can get. My family and I need my dad and love him so much. We’re not ready for him to leave us. Please pray for my dad, and take this into your hearts.

Sneak Peek: Critical Thinking Wins the Day at a KIPP High School
I am proud of being apart of KIPP, because of reviews,interviews,tv shows,etc. showing what we are really made of. Yes our campus isn’t the best looking, our community is small, we have to wear uniforms. But when it all comes down to it. We are actually the one’s who are winning.
I’m proud to say I was the first graduating class from the phenomenal high school.
